***Winter Snowstorm Permitting Delays***

The winter storm Portland is currently experiencing has Urban Forestry staff busy responding to emergencies.

Routine permitting services will be delayed.

503-823-TREE & trees@portlandoregon.gov have received and are responding to many reports of tree hazards or obstructions across the City. If a call or email has already been placed about a tree emergency in a city street, please know Urban Forestry staff will get there as soon as possible.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.

If a tree emergency exists because the condition or location of a tree presents such a clear and present danger to structures or the public that there is insufficient time to obtain a tree permit, the hazardous portion(s) of the tree may be removed without first obtaining a required tree permit followed by the submission of a retroactive tree permit.

Retroactive tree permits require photographic evidence of the danger to structure or public and these photos must be submitted with the retroactive removal permit application within 7 days of the removal.
