The Portland Water Bureau conducts compliance monitoring on a daily basis to ensure water quality meets EPA standards. Every year, water quality technicians regularly use about 90 sampling stations around the city to collect over 11,000 water samples. Over 49,000 water quality tests are conducted on those samples at the Portland Water Bureau Water Quality Laboratory.
The results from the water quality tests are used to ensure that the Portland Water Bureau and Portland's drinking water meets all state and federal regulations. Results are regularly reported to the EPA, State of Oregon, and the public. Some of these results and reports are available here.
