Portland Water Bureau is committed to keeping our neighbors informed and involved throughout the project. Portland has been operating facilities in this area for more than 100 years and provides water to local water utilities throughout Multnomah County.
The filtration facility site is already owned by Portland Water Bureau and can accommodate a buffer between the facility and its neighbors. New pipelines will connect the filtration plant to existing water pipes. Portland Water Bureau is currently identifying the best alignment for the pipes.
A Site Advisory Group will help develop a Bull Run Filtration Good Neighbor Agreement by providing an independent community perspective on the facility design, construction, and ongoing operation.
Goal: Foster open communication by identifying and resolving community concerns early in the project.
Outcome: Document our commitments in a Good Neighbor Agreement - an agreement reflecting the Portland Water Bureau’s commitments to filtration facility neighbors that addresses concerns while achieving a successful project.
Site Advisory Group members: Adjacent property owners, farm operators, local school representatives, area water utilities, environmental interests, and others.
