On Saturday, October 24, the public is invited to attend the 17th Annual African American Home Ownership Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Legacy Emanuel Hospital Atrium at 501 N. Graham Street.
An annual occasion, the event includes more than 40 housing professionals, resources for first time homebuyers, and workshops guiding attendees through the basics of buying a home, accessing first-time homebuyers resources, and homeownership retention.
Portland Water Bureau staff will be attending the fair to educate potential new Water Bureau bill payers about water and ways they can use water efficiently, including installing free water-saving devices. Materials for other sustainable City programs will also be available. Events such as these present a great way for community members to learn more about their water system and how to manage their bills.
Lunch and parking are free. Attendees can enter to win a $1,000 grant and other prizes.
