Mayor Wheeler Introduces Three Notable Items in City Council This Week
This week’s agenda includes an innovative disaster resiliency hub, an agreement with Prosper Portland and approval for affordable housing units.
Portland, OR—Three notable items are coming to City Council this week, as introduced by Mayor Wheeler’s Office. A brief description of each is below.
Emergency Preparedness Hub Pilot Project – Item 823
This ordinance will authorize an agreement with Portland General Electric and Portland State University to develop the first-ever PREPHub Pilot Project. The first emergency preparedness hub of its kind, it will provide crucial services to Portland residents during a disaster, including power, communication and emergency first aid supplies.
Intergovernmental Agreement with Prosper Portland – Item 825
This ordinance will authorize an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with Prosper Portland in support of the ongoing implementation of housing functions at the Portland Housing Bureau and economic opportunity functions at Prosper Portland. This IGA has been in place for the past six years and is established to promote greater coordination and efficiencies between the two bureaus for implementation of housing development projects and housing policy.
Affordable Housing Units for New Apartment Complex– Item 834
This ordinance ensures five of the 32 units planned at 52nd Ave Apartments located at 6615 SE 52nd Ave. will be affordable at 80% of the Median Family income (MFI) for 99 years.
