Mayor Wheeler Introduces Two Notable Items in City Council This Week

This week’s agenda includes PCCEP appointments and workforce development.

 

Portland, OR–Mayor Wheeler is introducing seven notable items in City Council this week. A brief description of each is below. The entire Council Agenda is here.

Item 1004: Portland Committee on Community-Engaged Policing Members Appointed

Thirteen inaugural members will be appointed to the Portland Committee on Community-Engaged Policing (PCCEP), which is intended to raise the community’s voice in conversations and decisions around police accountability and reform. Mayor Wheeler has been incredibly energized by the progress of the PCCEP over the last two months. You can read the members’ bios here.

Item 1010: Addressing Lack of Trade-Based Skilled Labor for Government Projects

 

This ordinance authorized an agreement with Metro to contribute $25,000 in cooperation with Metro and other agencies to participate on a committee to study the needs and develop a plan to address the lack of available trade-based skilled labor to work on government projects in the Portland area.
