The Fire Protection Engineering Analysis uses Chapter 7 of the IBC, and particular Section 722 Calculated Fire Resistance, Section 716.1.1 Alternative Methods for Determining Fire Protection Ratings and lumber char rate calculations are also part of this analysis, as relevant.

Revised 1/G032, WW3B 3-Hour Area Separation Wall Type (ASW) per embedded Priest Engineering Judgement, 7/14/22 and Dr J Engineering peer review, 7/20/22.

Reason for alternative

Originally provided 3-hr AWS platform framing assembly. General Contractor requested the assembly be revise to balloon framing and there provided the equivalent fire protection 3-hr AWS assembly.

Appeal Decision

Alternate three-hour fire rated wall assembly with engineering analysis: Hold for additional information.
