Code Modification or Alternate Requested

Food carts at least 3ft apart, class K fire extinguishers in carts, extinguishers mounted, food cart under deck needs more space.

Proposed Design

All food carts in the pod are equipped with Class K fire extinguishers, including carts that do not have hoods or deep fryers. BBQ cart, (Smokin Oak) has a extinguisher 2A10BC
• Multiple fire extinguishers are located throughout the food cart pod and inside Garden Tavern for added safety.
• All extinguishers are properly mounted and secured in both the carts and Garden Tavern.
Cartside was originally within regulations prior to recent fire code updates, and only a few carts within the pod now fall under the criteria referenced in the citation. Carts are currently being worked on being spaced at least 3 feet apart.
• The cited cart is located under the covered deck
Has no hood, no exhaust system, and no active cooking.
• All food is prepared off-site in a licensed commissary kitchen.
• Food is held hot in Cambro boxes, warming trays, and steam wells.
• The cart only assembles and serves food; there is no open flame, no deep frying, and no cooking on-site.
• We take fire safety seriously and have implemented measures that go beyond minimum requirements.
• We respectfully ask that this appeal be considered in light of the above details, and are happy to provide further clarification or any additional changes if needed.
