Portland Street Response Media Advisory
Who: Mayor Ted Wheeler, Commissioner Jo Ann Hardesty, Fire Chief Sara Boone, and Portland Street Response Program Manager Robyn Burek will be speaking to the media about the latest evolution of Portland Street Response.
In addition: on site and available for interviews after the press conference: Police Chief Chuck Lovell, Bureau of Emergency Communications Director Bob Cozzie, and Portland Street Response Mental Health Crisis Responder Britt Urban.
What: Portland Street Response, a program that’s part of Portland Fire & Rescue’s Community Health Division, offers an unarmed response to non-life-threatening behavioral and mental health crisis calls. After hitting the streets as a pilot program covering the greater Lents area in February 2021, Portland Street Response is ready to officially expand coverage to the entire City of Portland starting Monday, March 28. For this next phase of expansion, PSR’s hours will be 8 am – 10 pm, seven days a week.
Where: Fire Station 1, 55 SW Ash Street. The press conference will be set up in the apparatus bay.
When: Monday, March 28 at 10:30 am.
