At 6:11 am Portland Fire & Rescue responded to report of a residential fire at 1024 NE 126th Ave. The crew from Engine 30 (Gateway) arrived and found a moderate amount of smoke coming from the vents of the house. Although there was an excessive amount of belongings in the house, Engine 30 was able to quickly stretch a hose line into the structure and extinguish the flames. The fire was brought under control at 6:33 am and crews remain on scene mopping up. Fire crews discovered a dog in the backyard and worked to move the dog to a safe place. No injuries were reported at this fire. An investigator is on scene working to determine a fire cause and damage estimates. Updates will be given as soon as they are available.
