Portland Fire & Rescue will host an informational press conference Monday June 24 at 11:30 to discuss issues associated with “fireworks season” here in Portland. As in the past few years, personal fireworks usage and displays are illegal in the City of Portland. We will be discussing the reasons for the decision to prevent the usage of personal fireworks, the civil and criminal infractions and how these infractions will be addressed by the PF&R Fire Investigations Unit, along with the impacts to our emergency dispatch center with the increased emergency calls fielded during this time.
